Cisco Meraki SD-WAN and Firewall MX models are key component to protect organizations from Cybersecurity attack. Also enhanced with Next Gen Firewall for Zero attack pretection, Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) with sandboxing, Intrusion Protection System (IPS) and Web based filtering feature.
Besides Security appliance features, Meraki MX also serve as site-to-site VPN (S2S IPSec VPN), client VPN (SSL VPN)
And for small to medium office, Meraki MX also serve as all-in-one router device with built-in DHCP, DNS, NAT, QoS VLAN management and WiFi (in models with -W suffix) . Meraki MX supports upto 3 WANs (2 WANs for Load Balance, and 3rd WAN for Backup) .

In 2025, Meraki launched new Meraki Firewall models with Cisco Catalyst / Secure Router hardware platforms, the new wave of Meraki MX offers much higher Firewall performance compared to the Legacy Meraki MX model above. The available new Meraki MX Firewall are
8111G2-MX : Samll branch Firewall with 2 WAN and 4 LAN up to 200 users
8121G2-MX : Small branch Firewall with 2 WAN and 10 LAN up to 200 users
8455-G2-MX: Large branch Firewall with upto 8 WAN and 8 LAN (SFP/SFP+) up to 10,000 users

Besides the on-premise Firewall appliances above, Meraki also offers Virtual MX (vMX) which can be implemented on major Global Cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Alibaba Cloud

Resided in the same Meraki Cloud Dashboard, customers can monitor, manage and get alert notification from Meraki IoT sensors (MT model). Meraki MT can also integrate with standard Building Management System via standard MQTT protocol. From detecing Temperature and Humidity, Water leak detection, Air quality monitoring, CO2 level, Close/Open Contact, and Smart Button sensors. MT devices connect with Meraki MR or MV via Bluetooth BLE wirelessly.  Available models are

MT12 : Water leak detection sensor
MT15 : (New) Indoor Air Quality sensor
MT20 : Close/Open contact sensor
MT30 : (New) Smart Automation Button sensor

In order to implement Meraki MT devices, customers will need nearby Meraki MR or MV to act as MT gateway. In case customers have MV (Meraki Smart Camera), both MT and MV devices can act as Eye Sensor in which when MT detect the events for example, any time the door to a restricted area is opened, the MV camera can take a snapshot and help security teams investigate unauthorized access.
